Our final full weekend of the cottage season wrapped up today. And as I've indicated in other recent projects, it's a bittersweet feeling. Autumn is a time of beauty, and that colorful shield epitomizes the cycle of life.

I am so awed by the beauty of the Otonabee-South Monaghan township, and areas that surround it. Ironically, this area is not one I ever originally considered for a cottage; but I've been pleasantly surprised and very pleased with our choice to buy a cottage at Bellmere Winds, as I think you can tell from my many projects featuring the region. I've made new friends and tried to do my part to be a good neighbour and to support the local economy. I truly believe in the importance of shopping local.

Nowhere is this beauty more obvious than the family-run, Elmhirst's Resort. Minutes from the cottage, we've had many a lovely Sunday Brunch at Elmhirst, and - as always - I have my camera nearby.

So, let's go for a walk and together, enjoy these last breaths of autumn.
If you'd like to see more of Elmhirst, I highly encourage you to visit in person. But if that isn't possible, feel free to drop my my Flickr site for an extended collection of images.
